Dr. Jill Shainhouse, ND, earned her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario before graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). In 2004, she established her private practice in Toronto, and in 2007, she joined Toronto\u2019s Medicor Cancer Centres as a naturopathic consultant.<\/p>\n
In 2007, alongside her mentor Dr. Peter Papadogianis, ND, Dr. Shainhouse co-founded the Integrative Cancer Care Program at CCNM. She continues to teach and supervise naturopathic interns within this specialized stream. As part of this curriculum, she leads a unique observation program at Sunnybrook Hospital’s Louise Temerty Breast Cancer Centre<\/b><\/a>, where she attends the hospital with her students multiple times each month to advance clinical education.<\/p>\n Clinical Scope & Patient Focus<\/b><\/p>\n Dr. Shainhouse provides evidence-based, safe supportive care for individuals undergoing conventional cancer treatments, including:<\/p>\n Her clinical practice is exclusively dedicated to adjunctive cancer care, supporting patients with a recent or previous cancer diagnosis, as well as high-risk individuals managing precancerous conditions, genetic mutations, or a strong family history of cancer. Her ultimate goal is “bridging the gap” between conventional oncology and supportive naturopathic medicine to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life.<\/p>\n Professional Affiliations, Research & Advocacy<\/b><\/p>\n An active leader in the oncology community, Dr. Shainhouse has participated in Oncology Grand Rounds at the Odette Cancer Centre<\/b><\/a>. She continues to lecture for major cancer support organizations, including:<\/p>\n Dr. Shainhouse previously served on the OncANP<\/a><\/b> Board of Directors and was the Integrative Medicine section editor of Current Oncology<\/a><\/b>\u2019s Cancer Knowledge Network<\/a>.
