Naturopathic Medicine
Are you looking to improve your overall health?
Do you have a concern that has only been minimally helped by mainstream medicine?
Do you want to take charge of your health?
If you answered “yes” to these questions, a visit to a naturopathic doctor may be what you’ve been looking for.
A Naturopathic Doctor (ND) is a highly trained primary healthcare provider that aims to treat the root cause of disease. NDs often work with other practitioners to provide the patient with optimal care.
Naturopathic Medicine provides a comprehensive approach to treating illness and improving overall wellness. With a strong focus on preventative medicine for patients of all ages, naturopathy treats a wide variety of health concerns. Naturopathic treatments can either be used alone or as a complement to conventional medicine.
The goal of Naturopathic Medicine is to meet the individualized concerns of each patient, and to treat the human body as a whole. Treatment may incorporate the following therapies:
Nutritional & Lifestyle Counseling:
Creating an individualized diet & exercise plan to meet your medical needs.
Herbal Medicine:
The use of plant-based extracts as liquid or encapsulated formulas. Herbs have a pharmacological action similar to drugs, but act more synergistically with the body.
Intravenous Therapy:
The injection of vitamins & minerals into the body to optimize health, treating conditions ranging from the common cold to cancer. Many of our formulas are based on the research from the Riordan Clinic.
Physical Medicine and Hydrotherapy:
The use of a variety of modalities including therapeutic electrostimulation, laser, or application of heat and cold to facilitate soft tissue healing. These devices are used in combination with acupuncture, manual bodywork, and manipulation.
Acupuncture:
The use of very fine needles to stimulate healing. Acupuncture may be used in many cases and is especially useful in pain management and relaxation.
The Naturopathic Doctors at this clinic are members of CONO the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
