Specialized Testing & Blood Work

Did you know that Naturopaths can order blood work?

Are you struggling to get annual blood work done, due to the shortage of family doctors? We can help with that.

Our Naturopaths can order (non-ohip covered) blood tests based on your particular health needs and/or requests. For existing patients, these can be discussed in a follow up appointment with your naturopath.

However, for new patients, Dr. Sarah Tayebi is now offering Acute Health Assessments. In this 45 minute consultation, Dr. Tayebi reviews your health history and primary health concerns, and performs a brief physical examination. Upon determining the best tests to run for you, she then provides you with a blood work requisition, and a comprehensive blood work report, once results are received. **

If you are a new patient looking to see another Naturopath for specialized testing as well as additional naturopathic guidance, an initial consultation is required.

** The cost of blood work is not included in the price of the Acute Health Assessment**

Healthy Living Assessment and Enhanced Healthy Living Assessment:

Offers in-depth insights into the status of critical physiological systems, including the liver, kidneys, circulatory system, electrolyte balance, cardiac health, and overall metabolic function.

Inflammation Panel

Used to assess and monitor the presence and severity of inflammation in the body.

Liver/Digestion Panel

Provides insight into liver and gallbladder function.

Autoimmune Panel

Used to detect specific antibodies produced by the immune system that target a person’s own tissues or organs.

Men’s health panel

Used to assess various aspects of a man’s overall health and well-being. Typically includes evaluations of testosterone levels, cholesterol profiles, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) for prostate health, and other markers to screen for conditions such as cardiovascular disease and hormonal imbalances.

Female Hormone Panel

Evaluates the levels of key hormones, such as estrogen, progesterone, and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), in women. It helps diagnose hormonal imbalances, assess reproductive health, and monitor conditions like menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and fertility issues.

Female Fertility Panel

Assesses hormonal markers and factors affecting a woman’s ability to conceive, aiding in diagnosis and treatment of fertility issues.

Thyroid panel

Assesses thyroid function by measuring levels of thyroid hormones and thyroid-stimulating hormone, aiding in the diagnosis and management of thyroid disorders such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.

Fatigue Panel

identifies potential underlying medical issues, such as anemia, thyroid disorders, or nutritional deficiencies, which may contribute to persistent fatigue and low energy levels.

Nutrient Panel

Measures levels of essential vitamins and minerals in the bloodstream, assessing nutritional status and identifying potential deficiencies that may impact overall health and well-being.

Vitamin Panel

used to assess the levels of specific vitamins in the bloodstream, helping to identify deficiencies or excesses that may affect overall health and guide appropriate supplementation or dietary adjustments.

Mineral Panel

measures the concentrations of essential minerals in the blood, aiding in the assessment of nutritional status and the detection of deficiencies or imbalances that may impact overall health.

Lipids Panel

Evaluates levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, providing crucial information about cardiovascular health and the risk of heart-related conditions.

Hematology Panel

Assesses the cellular components of the blood, including red and white blood cells and platelets, to diagnose and monitor various blood-related disorders.

Metabolic Panel

Measures various markers related to glucose, insulin, and lipid metabolism to evaluate overall metabolic health and identify potential issues like diabetes or metabolic syndrome.

Specialized Testing

Our team of Naturopaths has extensive experience in specialised testing and interpretation of these test results. Some of the most commonly used tests that we can offer include:

Comprehensive Stool Analysis / Parasitology
Used to assess digestive health, identify gastrointestinal issues, and evaluate the composition of the gut microbiome through the analysis of stool samples.

The parasitology addition looks for various components, including bacteria, fungi, parasites, and the gut microbiome composition, helping to identify gastrointestinal infections, imbalances, and digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Used to assess hormonal imbalances and their metabolites through a comprehensive urine analysis, aiding in the diagnosis and management of various health conditions.
